The Product Safety Engineer Performs full range of standard work for the Product Safety field. Identifies and resolves complex problems and applies problem-solving skills to deal with most situations. Completes the preparation of complex safeguarding application guidelines, designs parameters, and other safeguarding specifications. Completes standardization of safeguarding methods and materials. Completes product issues documentation for problem resolution and future reference.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • The Product Safety Engineer is mainly responsible for the following, other duties may be assigned.
  • Create, maintain, and update CE compliance files and product safety documents for Dematic products.
  • Create, maintain, and update produce guidelines for safeguards that are added to Dematic material handling equipment when installed at customer locations.
  • Provide technical assistance, guidance, and training as it applies to design and selection of these safeguards for Dematic's products to all involved. 
  • Perform periodic customer site audits of installed systems on the compliance to Dematic Product Safety guidelines and directives.
  • Assessment of new application ideas.

Knowledge & Experience Require:

  • You have experience with CE compliance and industrial machine safeguarding and material handling equipment.
  • You obtained a degree in Engineering.
  • You have knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, Risk Assessment and other analytical/planning tools.
  • You have an analytic mindset
  • You’re able to work independently
