Thomas Kaminski, Country Manager, Handling Automation

Thomas Kaminski talks about his work as a country manager with Egemin in the USA: "At Egemin there’s a warm working atmosphere – very different from my previous employer where I was just a number."

Leading-edge technology

“I was working for another company when I put my CV online to see whether any potential employers would react”, says Thomas Kaminksi. “Egemin invited me for an interview. I was so impressed by their products, the leading-edge technology that they use and their research and development work that I knew straight away that I wanted to work for them. I started just two weeks later. We can be very creative in our work and my colleagues are very proud of what they produce.”

Understanding our customers’ business

“I enjoy working on the ground-breaking projects that make Egemin stand out in the market”, says Thomas. “We use new technologies to benefit our own organisation and this means that we stimulate the whole sector. Egemin maintains its leading position in technology through continuous investment in product development. In addition to the exciting aspects of the work within Egemin itself, I also enjoy getting to grips with our customers’ business -  what they do, how they do it, and why. The wide range of experience I gain with customers means that my career is full of new challenges. If you can work with customers as true partners, sharing skills and expertise, you realise that the sky’s the limit.  This is true of all our projects.”

Sharing expertise internationally

“Good collaboration is essential”, says Thomas Kaminski. “We share our expertise with colleagues at annual meetings. Teleconferences are also useful. But the methods of communication we use the most are still e-mail and the telephone. It’s very easy to ask questions of your colleagues anywhere in the world so that you can get the information you need - their opinion or experience, recommendations, designs, code or just a reaction to your own ideas.”
