Simulation of your flow of goods is a powerful support tool to find out whether the logistic installation and material flows can obtain the capacities you plan to realize. Egemin Automation has its own simulation department that is capable of creating a computer model for your warehouse installation or transport system.
Nearly all industrial installations have a non deterministic flow of goods. Both the supply of goods and process times are subject to statistic deviations that cannot be accurately computed. In these cases, simulations are an extremely valuable tool since they can provide reliable estimations on capacities, intermediate stocks, transit times, etc.
Simulation for logistics systems
We provide simulation studies for the following systems:
Simulation studies
Each simulation study consists of two parts. First, we design a computer model which reproduces the actual flow of goods as accurately as possible. The computer model is thoroughly tested and validated using calculated values and measurement results.
The second part focuses on performing experiments. For each experiment, a different set of parameters is assigned to the model. This enables you to reproduce both the normal flow of goods and crisis situations and to obtain answers to what if questions.
Emulation of warehouse systems
Emulation allows for duplicating the functions and all controls of the future warehouse installation on a virtual system. Warehouse emulation focuses on exact reproduction of the external behaviour of a real-life material handling installation. This results in considerable time and cost savings during start-up as it reduces test times on-site.
