Tobacco manufacturer JTI (Japan Tobacco International) recently commissioned an AGV system
with nine automated guided vehicles for its production plant in Ballymena in Northern Ireland. The Ballymena plant manufactures roll-your own products for the UK and European markets. Egemin's AGVs take care of the transport of packing materials to the production lines and the transport of finished goods from the lines.

division has won an EPCM project from Laboratoria Smeets with a value of more than 2 million euro. The project comprises the engineering, purchasing, construction and automation, management and qualification of an existing production installation for powders for all kinds of drugs and food supplements. Egemin will execute the project in an EPCM approach (engineering, procurement, construction & management).
Belgian railway infrastructure manager Infrabel is currently working on the rail construction of the 10 mile track of the Liefkenshoek railway tunnel below the Scheldt in Antwerp. This tunnel provides a direct railway connection between the port of Antwerp on the left bank of the Scheldt and the railway network on the right bank. Egemin takes care of the automation of the GBRS system for the fire safety in the new tunnel
Safety clothing specialist Vandeputte has engaged Egemin for the automation of its brand new distribution centre in Puurs. Egemin has developed and integrated a semi-automated warehouse system
concept. The new system has enabled Vandeputte to process up to 2,000 orders daily, instead of 1,500, with the same number of employees.
