Egemin News December: Alcon uses Egemin system for operation kit picking | Stacker crane hoisting at Samsonite | New DC for Zijderlaan | New infra automation orders

Dear,

Alcon Belgium recently put in use a fully automated storage and order picking system with WMS software from Egemin. Alcon uses the system for composing personal operation kits for ophthalmic surgeons. This was a unique project because the logistics process is partly set in a traditional warehouse environment and partly in a cleanroom. Egemin and Alcon together featured on the Belgian television news at the Kanaal Z business channel. Meanwhile, Egemin completed the hoisting of three automatic stacker cranes at Samsonite's new warehouse in Oudenaarde. The next seven months, Egemin will build an automated sugar warehouse for Zijderlaan in Puttershoek. It's scheduled to be fully operational in July 2014.

Egemin won a public tender for the complete renovation of the Boudewijn Lock in Bruges. This was not the only news for our Infra Automation division. Belgian public transport company De Lijn assigned Egemin to build a new visualization system in the existing remote control in the premetro control centre of Antwerp.
